When was the last time you were really enjoying the moment? That moment can be anything but be honest. The reality is we are all programmed to multi-task. From having laundry in the wash while working on our computers, making dinner or taking care of your kids while talking on the phone, to cleaning, getting your car fixed at the car dealer but you are on a conference call…. the list goes on. We are all guilty of this.
Why can’t we just be in the moment and do away with distractions for a minute, second, an hour or my gosh even an entire day. What I have seen and continue to see are families trying to enjoy a day at the park with their children but the parents aren’t fully present, people walking their dogs yet they are on the phone, couples having dinner but distracted by social media, vacation time but not really a vacation. I know this sounds like a rant but it’s unfortunately the world we live in now with technology and the mind set of trying to do it all and be everything to everyone but yourself.
Remember when life was simple and family time really meant family time. No cell phones, no social media and no television allowed during a meal. Just live engaging conversations. Now, even a simple phone call is becoming obsolete and people just text.
They say time flies when you are having fun but time also flies when you are not in the moment. I am sure you are all like me, where you just forget what day it is and come Friday, you are like whoa. The week just passes by and you realize where did the time go. You ask yourself “Was I fully embracing the moment(s)? Was I going through the motion?
“Nothing is more precious than being in the present moment. Fully Alive, Fully Aware.”

Benefits of being in the moment:
Improve your social skills
Helps you re-energize, focus and be more creative
Appreciate what you have and where you are at that TIME
Create lasting memories
Great stress release
What’s next?
Unplug from technology (props to those that made it a mission to do just that)
Breathe in the positive and let go of the negative
Do something you really enjoy doing that will allow you to completely be in the moment heart and soul
Put it on your to do list and block out time to just be. If that is on the weekends, evenings or early mornings than do it
Remember to have fun, smile, laugh and appreciate that time, space and place
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, be all there!!
