An accomplished woman, influential leader with compassion and integrity, let’s say cheers to our Featured DivaGirl for October  Tiffaney Whipple!

Tiffaney Whipple is a John Maxwell certified coach, speaker, trainer, and the creator of Cenacle Leadership Group (CLG). CLG is a leadership development company that helps people transform their lives and organizations by increasing their leadership skills. Her work helps to build & restore relationships, develop increased personal understanding, resolve conflicts, build strong teams and maximize communication. All of this is accomplished via coaching, groups, seminars and workshops. Further, she organizes major events, such as women’s conferences that assist in connecting professionals, leading to the establishment of business partnerships.

Having served in various leadership roles throughout the Midwest and east coast regions of the United States, she is honored to have been an educator for over 18 years, impacting the lives of many people. Tiffaney is a passionate educator who is always looking for new challenges to make a greater impact in the world. Therefore, her latest venture is Cenacle Education Solutions (CES), a subsidiary of CLG. With CES she hires and trains substitute teachers to be leaders. As leaders, they go into the local area schools, teaching leadership lessons to students while managing the classroom when the regular teacher takes time off. Her legacy is one of leadership; she continues to develop more leaders who go out and develop many leaders.

“My definition of a DivaGirl is a distinguished lady who makes things happen in whatever she sets her mind to do. I feel empowered and inspired as a DivaGirl because I get to collaborate and partner with so many influential women. We encourage and support one another as we build businesses and make a difference in the community.”

What are the three qualities of a good leader?

There are a multitude of qualities that make leaders good; however, if I had to pick 3, they would be:

  • Integrity-you must be honest, or people can’t trust when you are telling the truth or not
  • Caring-you have to care about people. No one will follow you until they genuinely feel as though you care about their well-being.
  • Influence-this is what leadership is. You have to be a positive influence on others.

What activities make you feel useful, alive and strong?

The activities that make me feel alive are singing and dancing. I feel useful and strong when I am speaking and teaching to a group of people or helping someone one-on-one with figuring something out.

What is your typical morning routine to start your day and get motivated?

My daily routine consists of a combination of meditation and spiritual prayer. I play instrumental meditation music in the background.

What are your (3) staple outfits in your closet

My three staple outfits are a black dress (sometimes I throw a blazer over it), blue jeans with any type of top (this depends on the mood), and though this is not an outfit, I love open toed shoes. With a heel/wedge is my preference.

What are your three major accomplishments and why?

Being an educator. Sometimes we do not recognize the impact we have on others. And sometimes, we have the experience of people coming back to you and saying what an impact you have made in their life. This is what being an educator has been for me. Influencing young lives, helping people and planting seeds that may one day grow.

Raising my three children to be independent and close to one another. I travel a lot, sometimes for weeks at a time. In my absence, they hold it down, cooking, cleaning, and making sure no one is in need of anything. That bond is priceless, and I am grateful they are close to each other. It didn’t always look like it would turn out this way.

Quitting a career in education after 19 years and launching my business full-time. This is an accomplishment because I leaped and left the security of scheduled money coming in biweekly. As risky as it sounds, I have learned when it is time to go. I am happy and still in the education business.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give to other business owners/want to start a business?

My advice to someone considering being a business owner is, Do it! Cast your fears aside and leap. You will figure it out.  Do what is comfortable as a start for you; yet, never let fear hold you back from what you know is your passion and purpose.

Favorite Quote/Motto that you live by?

My favorite quote comes from my grandfather. When there were times, I was unsure and needed to take a risk, he would say to me, “It is better to be a has been than a never was!” I have never been either thanks to him. I am…..

If you can have dinner with someone from past, present, or future who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with someone, it would be Oprah Winfrey. I chose her because she is a leader, an influencer and a trailblazer. I would love to talk about how she has overcome obstacles, as well as, her spiritual journey.

What is the last book you read?

Currently, I am reading Marie Forleo’s Everything is Figure Outable.

What has been challenging for you as an entrepreneur? How did you overcome it?

The most challenging thing for me thus far is not getting overwhelmed. I am a one woman show at this time, so I am doing everything. I am overcoming it by realizing-through meditation and prayer-that it is ok to outsource some tasks. This is making business life a lot easier.

What do you want to be known for?

I will be known for my positive influence on any and everyone I reach. My legacy will be the ongoing creation of loving, caring leaders.

What are the (3) things you love about yourself/make you unique?

Three things I love about myself are; (1) My compassion for others, (2) My quick thinking and wittiness, and (3) My ability to forgive and let go.

What is your favorite all time movie?

I don’t really have an “all-time favorite” movie. However, one that comes to mind is The Color Purple. I like that movie because (1) the casting was excellent, (2) it makes you laugh, (3) it makes you cry, and (4) it makes you look at what type of impact you would like to have on others. Lastly, it is also a lesson on forgiveness.
